Only preform this step after you have completely migrated and all of your new services are working

This process removes cached passwords from your old account to prevent login errors with your new AIR account in Outlook, OneDrive, and Teams.

Phase 1: Preparation

  1. Close All Apps: Ensure all Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, Teams, OneDrive sync app) are completely closed.

  2. Open Credential Manager:

    • Click the Start Menu.

    • Type Credential Manager and open the matching Control Panel result.

Phase 2: Identify and Remove Credentials

  1. Select Windows Credentials: In the Credential Manager window, click the Windows Credentials tab.

  2. Locate Office Entries: Scroll down to the Generic Credentials section. Look for entries that contain any of the following terms:

    • MicrosoftOffice (followed by a version number like 15_Data or 16_Data)

    • Outlook

    • OneDrive or the name of the old tenant domain (@owensdesign.com or Owens Design)

  3. Remove Credentials:

    • Click the name of the credential to expand it.

    • Click Remove (or Remove from Vault).

    • Confirm the deletion when prompted.

    • Repeat this process for ALL credentials found that reference your old Office 365 account or the Microsoft Office services.

⚠ IMPORTANT: DO NOT delete any credentials related to your Windows login (e.g., virtualapp/didlogical) or any credentials listed under the separate Web Credentials tab. Only remove entries related to Microsoft Office/Outlook/OneDrive.

Phase 3: Finalize

  1. Close: Close the Credential Manager window.

  2. Restart (Recommended): Restart your computer to ensure the changes take full effect.

You can now sign in to your new AIR account in your Office applications and they will be forced to ask for your new password.
